Acne Scar Removal

Acne scar removal can be done safe and easily through laser treatments. The laser treatments remove the uppermost layer of skin and allow the lower layers of skin to form and tighten in order to eliminate the scar tissue.  Laser treatment allows precision and comfort during the treatment.  Laser treatments for acne scars have a very high success rate and come recommended from people who have gone through the process.

The process can take a few minutes on a small area or a few hours for larger areas. After the treatment the results usually take a couple days to a week and a half to appear and then a while longer to be completely healed. The treated area may remain red or pink for several weeks following the treatment. The treated area may need to be bandaged for the first week following treatment. Treatment should be done after acne is under control, not while the acne is in a continuous state.

Acne scar removal alternatives to laser treatment include dermabrasion and acne creams. Dermabrasion removes the uppermost layer of skin using a high sped metal brush.  This can be done by a doctor or at a skin care clinic. Acne creams can be both medicated and non-medicated and are most effective when used over long periods of time. Creams are applied directly to the scar and are a safe method of removal, but often less effective than the alternative methods.
